Fence quoting software you can use while walking the line
Linear feet, style, height and gates turn into a priced quote on site. The customer signs on their phone and you book the install.
Fence customers want a number while you are standing in the yard. ZoloBid prices by the linear foot with your style, height and gate charges so you can hand it over on the spot.
How fence companies price a job
Fencing is priced by the linear foot, and the foot price depends on style and height. A four foot chain link fence and a six foot wood privacy fence are different products with different material and labor, so each needs its own rate. Vinyl, aluminum and wood each price on their own.
Gates are never just more fence. A walk gate needs posts, hardware and time to hang it square. A double drive gate needs more of all three. Price gates by the piece, not by the foot they take up.
The ground changes the job. Rock, roots and slopes slow post holes. Corners and ends need heavier posts. Tearing out and hauling off an old fence is its own labor. And before anyone digs, the lines have to be marked, so the schedule on the quote should leave room for that.

What slows a fencing quote down
Gates and removal get missed
A forgotten gate or old fence tear out can erase the profit on a small job.
Style changes mean a rewrite
Switching from privacy to picket should change the price, not start the quote over.
Waiting on a callback
Leave without a signed quote and the next fence company gets the job.

Fencing pricing mistakes that cost money
Gates priced as fence
A gate at the per foot rate loses money every time. Price it by the piece.
Free tear out
Removing an old fence can take half a day. Put it on the quote.
One rate for every yard
A sloped or rocky yard is slower. A simple yes or no question on site can add the charge.
