Roofing quoting software built for the driveway

Price a roof replacement or repair by the square, send a quote the homeowner signs on their phone, and take the deposit before you leave.

Most roofing quotes die between the ladder and the laptop. ZoloBid lets you turn squares, pitch and tear off layers into a priced quote while you are still on the property, using the rates you already charge.

How roofers price a job

Almost every roofing price starts with squares. One square is 100 square feet of roof surface, so a 2,400 square foot roof is 24 squares before waste. Waste is the extra material lost to cuts at hips, valleys and rakes. A simple gable roof wastes little. A cut up hip roof wastes much more, and a quote that ignores it loses money on shingles before the crew climbs the ladder.

From there the price moves with how hard the roof is to work. Pitch is the big one: a walkable roof installs fast, a steep roof needs staging and slows the whole crew. Stories matter for the same reason. Layers matter too, because tearing off two layers means double the labor and double the dump weight.

The rest is everything that is not a shingle. Starter, ridge cap, underlayment, drip edge, pipe boots, flashing, vents, permit and dumpster. Then the unknown: rotten decking nobody can see until the old roof is off. Good roofing quotes name a price per sheet for decking up front so the change is not a fight later.

What belongs on a roofing quote

A quote the customer can read line by line gets signed faster and argued about less.

  • Total squares and the shingle line
  • Tear off and disposal, with the number of layers
  • Steep and second story charges
  • Underlayment, starter, ridge cap and drip edge
  • Flashing, pipe boots and vents
  • A price per sheet for decking replacement
  • Permit and dumpster
  • Workmanship warranty terms and the deposit

Priced the way you already think

Answer a few questions on site and your own pricing rules turn them into lines:

  • Squares
  • Pitch
  • Layers to tear off
  • Shingle line
  • Decking sheets
  • Permit and dumpster

Start from our ready made "Roof replacement and roof repair" setup, then put in your own numbers. Nothing quotes until you confirm each rule.

ZoloBid never sets your prices. The rates, minimums and markups are yours.

What slows a roofing quote down

  • Math in the truck

Steep charges, second story charges and waste get figured by hand, so two estimators give two prices for the same roof.

  • Quotes that go out days later

The homeowner calls three roofers. The first clear number in their hand usually wins.

  • Chasing the signature

Paper contracts and deposit checks add a second trip to a job that should already be booked.

From first call to paid

How a roofing job moves through ZoloBid, start to finish.

  1. 1

    Measure

Get your squares from the ground, a ladder or a measurement report and enter them once.

  2. 2

    Answer the questions

Pitch, stories, layers and shingle line. Your own rules turn the answers into priced lines.

  3. 3

    Offer the upgrade

Put a better shingle line or a ridge vent on the quote as an option the homeowner can tick.

  4. 4

    Sign and take the deposit

The homeowner signs on their phone and pays the deposit with a card or bank transfer.

  5. 5

    Handle the surprise

Bad decking becomes a change order the customer signs before the crew keeps going.

  6. 6

    Invoice the balance

Send the final invoice from the job. Payment reminders go out on their own and stop when it is paid.

Roofing pricing mistakes that cost money

Quoting measured squares with no waste

The roof takes more shingles than the math said. Build a waste percent into your rule so every estimator uses the same one.

One price for every pitch

A steep roof at a walkable price is a job you pay to do. Set a steep charge once and let the answer on site apply it.

Leaving decking to a phone call

If the per sheet price is not on the signed quote, the homeowner hears it for the first time with their roof torn off.

Everything after the price

  • Send a quote the customer signs from their phone
  • Take a deposit when they sign
  • Follow ups and payment reminders that stop on their own
  • Customers, projects, jobs, crew and time in one place
  • Works in the field, even with no signal
  • Your brand on every quote, ZoloBid stays small in the footer

How steep the roof is, written as rise over a 12 inch run, like 6/12.
Tear off
Removing the old roofing down to the wood deck.
Decking
The wood sheets under the roofing. Rotten sheets get replaced.
Drip edge
Metal along the roof edge that sends water into the gutter.

Questions roofing owners ask

Can I price by the square with steep and story charges?

Yes. You set a price per square and your own adjustments for pitch, stories and layers. Answer the questions on site and the lines build themselves.

Can the homeowner pick between shingle lines?

Yes. Add upgrades as options and the customer ticks the one they want. The total changes as they choose, then they sign.

Does it handle change orders for bad decking?

Yes. Send a change order from the job, the customer signs it on their phone, and it is added to what they owe.

Can ZoloBid add waste to my squares?

Yes. You set the waste percent in your pricing rule and it is applied the same way on every quote.

Can I quote a repair and a full replacement differently?

Yes. Replacement and repair are separate ready made setups with their own questions and rules.

Can two estimators give the same price for the same roof?

That is the point. The rules are the company's, so the answers decide the price, not who is holding the tablet.

Does the homeowner need an app or an account?

No. They open a link, read the quote, choose options, sign and pay from any phone.
